Mouthpiece orthodontics is an orthodontic treatment method that involves fitting transparent mouthpieces to the top and bottom of the mouthpiece to improve the alignment of the teeth. Since there are no uneven orthodontic devices or wires, you can proceed with treatment without worrying about your appearance.

You will need to remove the mouthpiece when brushing your teeth or eating, but you will need to keep it in at all other times. It is generally recommended that you wear the mouthpiece for at least 22 hours a day.

In recent years, new mouthpiece orthodontic systems have been appearing one after another, and the number of types is increasing. It is expected that various systems will continue to be developed in the future as iOS (intraoral scanners) evolve.

There are various systems for mouthguard orthodontics, including Invisalign, but our clinic uses ClearCorrect, developed by the Straumann Group.

The reason we use ClearCorrect is that the mouthpiece is designed to cover about 2mm from the gum line, which maximizes its orthodontic power. This means that it has about 2.5 times the retention power of conventional mouthpieces, allowing us to expect effective orthodontic treatment.

The mouthpiece is made of a three-layer aligner material called "ClearQuartz™," which is made from a material designed to be aesthetically pleasing and comfortable to wear.

○ Cases where orthodontic treatment with mouthpieces is possible and cases where it is not possible

ClearCorrect is suitable for a wide range of conditions, including crowding, cleft teeth, deep bites, maxillary prognathism, mild crossbites, open bites, midline deviations, and incisal bites.

However, in cases of severe crowding or skeletal crossbite, treatment with mouthpiece orthodontics may be impossible. If treatment at our clinic is difficult, we will refer you to an orthodontist or university hospital.

○ Treatment period for mouthpiece orthodontics

The treatment period for mouthpiece orthodontics depends on the original state of the teeth. There are cases where mouthpiece orthodontics is suitable for children. The treatment period is usually about 1 to 3 years.
